Eastpointe

Storage Builders, LLC served as the general contractor for My Space Self Storage’s new construction project at 24200 Gratiot Avenue in Eastpointe, MI. The development involved demolishing a former car dealership on the site to construct a new three-story, 100,000-square-foot facility. Completed between 2018 and 2019 for a total cost of $7.4 Million, the property features 720 individual, fully climate-controlled interior units totaling 73,000 NRSF.

In 2023, My Space Self Storage engaged Storage Builders, LLC to construct an additional 65,000 NRSF of exterior ambient drive-up units on a 3.4-acre parcel purchased directly across the street on the south side of Stephens Road. Storage Builders was actively constructing this annex facility, having incurred approximately $1 Million in development costs, when My Space Self Storage elected to sell both the existing Eastpointe property and the uncompleted Stephens Road project to New York-based Prime Acquisitions Group for $13 Million in the second quarter of 2024. Prime Acquisition Group is completing the remaining construction on the Stephens Road site utilizing internal teams. The initial development was funded by Bank Five Nine.
